International Conference on Rock Magnetism 2017

Costs & Registration

Both the registration and abstract submission for the ICRM 2017 are now closed. New applications are no longer accepted.

Costs
The registration fee for the ICRM 2017 is € 300. This covers all costs for the conference, including lunches, drinks, opening reception, two dinners, and the use of a bike to get around. Optional accommodation is provided in the Star Lodge just outside Utrecht for a flat fee of € 270. This covers six nights (arrival on Sunday July 9, departure on Saturday July 15) in shared double rooms including breakfast, wi-fi, and all taxes and fees. To ensure the open atmosphere of the traditional Santa Fe meetings the number of participants is limited to 100.

Travel support
Because of generous funding by the US-NSF and KNAW limited travel support is available, fore mostly for young researchers based outside Europe who do not have access to other means of funding. More information on the travel grants can be found on the IRM’s website, also there is the travel support application questionnaire.

Accompanying persons
As Utrecht has many interesting things to see and do and cities like Amsterdam and The Hague are only 30-45 min away by train, accompanying persons are more than welcome. An accompanying persons fee of € 150 will provide for the opening reception, afternoon drinks, two dinners, and the use of a bike to get around. Of course it is possible to book a (double) room in the Star Lodge together with the participant, this costs an additional € 270 for the accompanying person. Please register an accompanying person separately, and make sure to select the proper fee in the registration system. It is necessary to create a separate accounts in the registration system, fore mostly to ensure separate invoices for the participant and the accompanying person.

Registration
The formal registration for the ICRM 2017 is handled by the Utrecht Summerschool office, this includes processing of payments. If necessary, this office can also assist participants needing a letter of invitation to obtain visa to enter the Netherlands/Schengen zone. The link above takes you to the webpage of the ICRM 2017 in the Summerschool’s system, where you can create an account and register for the conference. As we use a system that is designed for the administration of many applications for Utrecht’s summer schools, the multi-step registration system may seem rather elaborate, but by using this system we ensure a proper administration and formalities like the issuing of formal invoices etc. Preferences for roommates can be given in the ‘Comments’ box at the bottom of the registration form, or can be specified later via email.
